What a weekend!! Firstly I’d like to thank everyone who got involved, joined in the fun and put in the effort with early mornings, late nights, and MILES of walking.

The fishing as ever, was unpredictable. With the tides perhaps more in team baits’ favour, but the number of anglers in team lures favour it was too close to call.

Before I get to the results, I’d like to make a special mention to the anglers who decided to throw the objectives out of the window. Firstly Dave Burse struggled with finding the Bass, so decided to catch a 27lb Tope instead!! James Grantham whilst fishing for live baits with a 5g rod hooked and landed (after 20 mins) a 3lb+ mullet!! And also Richard Whiteley with some 1lb+ Gilthead Bream in amongst a big Bass haul.

Now to the main event. I was hoping to beat our previous Bass Days record, which was 57cm for the biggest fish which we beat 3 times!!!!

And 153cm longest total which got obliterated by 2 people!!

Well done to our team leaders, Tony who had 3 solid bass that weighed well above their length average, and Marcus who set a record I’m not sure will ever be beaten with 3 enormous Bass that would take most people a few years to catch let alone in 2 days!!!

Team Lure retains its title. Next year I will make a real push to get some more bait anglers involved, as if numbers were more even I’ve no doubt it would go right down to the wire!

Fishing wasn’t easy, which makes these results even more incredible. Well done everyone, thank you for taking part.

Until next year Bass Chasers 🎣🎣
