Unfortunately, I spawned a few fish and won it myself, with 46 anglers the results have been incredibly patchy with the harbour producing the majority of the fish.
HTO very kindly donated a nebula and 2 reels, so I’ve decided to award the nebula to the most outstanding performer of the day, Finlay Horne, he was the only one in the top 5 that was not in the harbour and also caught the second biggest fish of the day and he just so happens to be 12 years old. So well done to Finlay!!!!
The reels will go to second and third places. The lure vouchers will be split between the four placers, And I’ll be the envy of the West Sussex Sea Angling Club guys with my special blue hoody donated by Mark Gillen.
Big thank you to everyone who got involved, I think a good day was had by all.
Here’s a bit of a round-up from yesterday’s Bass Chase. By the end of the day I think we broke the 100 bass barrier, which is pretty damn good I reckon.
It was a very tricky day for some with weed and lack of fish halting much progress on the scoreboard, but for those who found a few fish the dawn and dusk law was plain to see, with a lot of fish being racked up quickly first thing then a very slow day even to the high scorers then an eruption of fish in the final hour.
I thought about doing this as a small little match between close friends, it then seemed fairly simple to widen the area and open it up to all customers and I’m so glad we did, lots of smiling faces, a fair few pb’s broken and a lot of top water action which in my opinion makes the captures all the more special.
Thank you to everyone who took part, I will definitely be doing this again, and I hope you all join me.
2 special mentions go to Finlay Horne and Lewis Clark the youngest two in the comp, who both caught 2 decent-sized bass from tricky spots putting them in the top 6 anglers out of 46!!
See you next year bass chasers!
